VPS Expands into Poultry Health with Industry Veteran Hire & Research Presentation

Veterinary Pharmaceutical Solutions (VPS), a prominent livestock pharmaceutical compounding company, has announced its official⁣ entry into the poultry market, signaling a key step in its continued growth.this expansion is⁤ underscored by the addition of a new commercial ⁤director specializing ⁣in⁤ poultry health and recent recognition at a major industry‌ event.

Leading ⁤the charge into this new sector is Darrell stoner, appointed as VPSS Commercial Director-Poultry. Stoner brings over two decades of experience in poultry health management, including previous leadership positions at Elanco Animal Health. He also demonstrates a strong commitment ⁣to animal welfare, having served as chair‍ of the Health & Welfare Committee for ⁣the International Poultry Welfare Alliance (IPWA), and holding board ​roles with both The Poultry Federation and the National Turkey‍ federation.

Stoner will be ‌responsible ⁤for ‌spearheading VPS’s poultry initiatives,​ focusing on building strong relationships with⁤ poultry integrators⁤ and veterinarians. His primary⁢ goal will be to develop and deliver innovative, customized ⁣pharmaceutical solutions tailored to⁤ the specific health needs‍ of chickens and turkeys.

VPS’s​ dedication to poultry health was ⁤further demonstrated ​at the American‌ Association of Avian Pathologists⁣ (AAAP) ⁣annual conference in Portland,July 29-31. Dr.​ Brian Payne, VPS’s Director of Commercial R&D and Technical services, was ⁤selected to present research findings.

The research, a collaborative effort with⁣ Iowa State University, focused on Meloxicam ⁢residue levels in finishing turkeys. ⁤The study provides valuable data to support informed, science-based recommendations for withdrawal times of Meloxicam and ibuprofen – the only two FDA-approved water-soluble ‌NSAIDs currently available for use‍ in both poultry and livestock.
