Vista Energy Reaches Record Production of 169,000 Barrels Per Day
Vista Energy reached a record production of 169,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day during the third quarter, marking a 33% year-over-year increase driven by investments and well productivity in Vaca Muerta.
Oil and Gas Production Drives Financial Growth
The company solidified its position as Argentina’s largest independent oil producer and primary crude exporter. Total daily production averaged 147,100 barrels of oil, representing a 34% jump compared to the third quarter of 2025. Natural gas production simultaneously expanded by 29% over the same timeframe, as detailed in a statement released by the firm founded and led by Miguel Galuccio.
Financial metrics mirrored the operational expansion. Adjusted EBITDA reached $841 million, translating to a 78% year-over-year climb and a 68% margin, which sat one percentage point above the figure recorded a year earlier. Net income settled at $293 million, while free cash flow reached $334 million, supported by the higher EBITDA generation. Total revenues for the period hit $1,234 million, up 75% from the previous year, driven by the volume growth and higher realized crude prices.
| Financial Metric | Q3 | Year-over-Year Change |
|---|---|---|
| Adjusted EBITDA | $841 million | +78% |

Vista Invests Millions to Boost Overseas Sales
Execution of the firm’s capital allocation strategy remained aggressive. Vista invested $460 million during the third quarter, connecting 25 new wells to maintain an operational cadence of 100 completions annually. Over the preceding twelve months, total deployment surpassed $2.3 billion, which included the acquisition of Equinor assets and the activation of 91 wells.

International shipments absorbed the majority of the extracted volume. Overseas sales accounted for 73% of total commercialized crude. The company dispatched 9.9 million barrels abroad, generating $935 million in revenue—a 56% surge compared to the third quarter of 2025. Across the first nine months of the year, cumulative exports exceeded 25 million barrels, generating over $2 billion in foreign exchange proceeds.
AI Growth Increases Demand for Energy Capacity
Cost discipline underpinned the margin expansion. Days prior, CEO Miguel Galuccio participated in the “Argentina at Silicon Valley” event alongside Alec Oxenford, the Argentine ambassador to the United States, to discuss the energy challenges posed by the growth of artificial intelligence.
“In the next decade we are going to need around 5,000 new data centers and 250 GW of additional capacity”, noted the executive and former president of YPF at the inaugural gathering that brought together entrepreneurs, investors, and technology leaders from the United States. “The question is where and with what energy we are going to supply that growth.”
Galuccio added: “Argentina can contribute to the global resilience of digital infrastructure. It is strategically located in a region free of armed conflicts, is attracting investments in the digital space and has Vaca Muerta as a reliable, stable energy source.”
