Liberty Wrestling Adds Three Highly-Rated Transfers
LYNCHBURG, VA – Liberty University’s wrestling program announced the addition of three significant transfer athletes today: Wynton denkins (Campbell University), Willie White (unspecified previous institution), and a third athlete whose name has not yet been publicly released. These additions bolster Head Coach Jesse Castro’s roster as the Flames prepare for the 2025-26 season and beyond.

denkins joins the Flames after two seasons at Campbell University, where he compiled a 48-22 overall record. The Perrysburg High School graduate qualified for the 2025 NCAA Championships, finishing with a 33-13 record during the season. He was ranked No. 30 nationally at 149 pounds in the final NCAA Coaches rankings for the 2024-25 season and secured a third-place finish at the 2025 Southern Conference (SoCon) championships. Prior to Campbell, Denkins was a three-time Virginia state champion and a 2022 NHSCA National Champion. He was also named the 2021-22 WIN Magazine Virginia wrestler of the Year. at Perrysburg High School, Denkins amassed a 155-12 career record and was a 2022 Ohio state championships runner-up.
Willie White | 157/165 | Miami, Florida | south Dade HS
White, a highly decorated wrestler from South Dade High School in Miami, Florida, brings a wealth of championship experience to Liberty. He is a three-time All-american and a 2025 Florida state champion. White notably went undefeated as a senior, posting a 61-0 record. He also claimed the title at the 2024 Knockout Christmas Classic and was a member of the undefeated national dual team for Team Florida. additionally, White is a Greco All-American.
