CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – Three members of the University of Virginia women’s soccer team – Alexa Adams, Laney Rouse, and Laurel Safradin – have been named to the 2025 Hermann Trophy Midseason Watch List, announced today. The prestigious award recognizes the nation’s top players in collegiate soccer.
The recognition highlights UVA’s strong start to the season and places Adams,Rouse,and Safradin among the 32 players considered for one of the highest individual honors in college soccer.Semifinalists will be named December 2, with three finalists advancing to compete for the trophy, which will be awarded January 9, 2026, at a ceremony in St. Louis, Missouri.
Forward Alexa Adams currently leads the Cavaliers in both goals scored and game-winning goals. She is also the ACC leader in game-winning goals, having scored three consecutive game-winners in conference play.
Defender laney Rouse has been instrumental in the team’s defensive success, contributing to eight shutouts in 11 games played while logging 918 minutes as a right back. Rouse has one goal and one assist this season, including an assist on the game-winning goal against then-No. 2 Duke and a goal against the Blue Devils.
Goalkeeper Laurel Safradin boasts a 9-0-1 record with seven shutouts and only three goals allowed. She is currently second nationally in goals against average (.300) and save percentage (.919).
The Hermann Trophy Watch List is compiled by the Hermann Trophy Midseason Watch List Committee, drawing from returning 2024 all-Americans and First Team All-Region players. Head coaches will vote to narrow the field to three finalists before the ultimate winner is announced.
