Virginia Giuffre’s brother has publicly called on King Charles III to remove Prince Andrew‘s title as a member of the royal family, intensifying scrutiny surrounding the Duke of York’s association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. David Bermingham made the appeal in a letter to the King, arguing Andrew’s continued status damages the monarchy’s reputation.
The renewed pressure comes as further details emerge regarding Prince Andrew’s past relationship with epstein, despite previous statements. In a 2019 BBC Newsnight interview, Prince Andrew claimed he had ended all connections with Epstein following a photograph taken together in New York in December 2010. Though, emails surfaced in February 2011 revealing continued contact, including a message from the Prince stating, “Keep in close touch and we’ll play some more soon!”
Prince Andrew currently resides at Royal Lodge in Windsor, secured by a private lease extending until 2078. While his former wife will no longer be known as Duchess of York, their daughters will retain their princess titles. The call to strip Andrew of his title reflects ongoing public concern and the desire for accountability in light of the allegations against him.
