by Emma Walker – News Editor

Virginia Giuffre’s brother has publicly called on King Charles III⁤ to remove Prince Andrew‘s title as a member ‌of the royal family, intensifying ‍scrutiny surrounding the Duke of York’s association with⁣ convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. David Bermingham made the appeal in a letter to the King, arguing Andrew’s continued status damages the monarchy’s reputation.

The renewed pressure comes as further details emerge regarding Prince Andrew’s past relationship with epstein, despite previous ⁣statements. In a ⁣2019 BBC ‌ Newsnight interview, Prince Andrew claimed he had ended all connections with Epstein ⁣following a photograph taken together in New York in December 2010. Though, emails surfaced⁤ in February 2011 revealing continued‌ contact, including a message from the Prince stating, “Keep in close touch and we’ll play some more soon!”

Prince ⁢Andrew currently resides ⁤at Royal Lodge in Windsor, secured by a private lease extending ⁣until 2078. While his former wife will no longer be known as Duchess of York, their daughters will retain their princess titles. The call to strip ⁤Andrew of his⁤ title reflects ongoing public concern and the desire for‍ accountability in light of the allegations against him.
