Vietnam will participate in the Asia-Pacific International Education Association (APAIE) conference and exhibition, held in Hong Kong from February 23rd to 27th, 2026, marking the nation’s first official presence at the event. A delegation of 17 educational institutions, led by Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training, will showcase Vietnamese higher education opportunities.

This year’s APAIE, hosted by The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), is expected to draw over 2,500 participants from more than 65 countries, making it a premier gathering for international education leaders and policymakers. CUHK previously hosted the conference in 2013, attracting 1,200 attendees from 46 countries and regions.

According to Nguyen Tu Tuoi, Head of the International Cooperation Department of Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training, Vietnam’s participation with a national pavilion is a first. The Vietnamese delegation intends to highlight the dynamism and development of its higher education system, focusing on quality enhancement, alignment with international standards, and preparation for broader international collaboration.

The Vietnamese pavilion’s establishment is a concrete step towards implementing policies for fundamental and comprehensive reform of education and training, promoting international integration, and fulfilling the objectives of the education and training international integration project approved by the Prime Minister for implementation through 2030. Previously, Vietnamese higher education institutions typically participated in APAIE individually.

The APAIE 2026 conference theme is “Asia-Pacific Partnerships for the Global Good.” The opening ceremony will feature a keynote address by Robin Lee, a Hong Kong filmmaker and cinematographer whose debut documentary, Four Trails, received the Best New Director Award at the 43rd Hong Kong Film Awards.

The event will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
