Victoria Mboko: Tennis Star Shines in Fashion & Politics

Rising Tennis Star ‍Mboko Caps Stellar Season with Fashion Week appearance,Meeting with Canadian Prime minister

NEW‌ YORK &⁢ OTTAWA -‌ December 5,2025 -⁤ Victoria Mboko,the 19-year-old Canadian tennis sensation,is⁢ quickly becoming a name beyond the court,capping a breakthrough season with appearances at ⁢a high-profile fashion show and a meeting with Prime Minister Mark Carney.

Mboko, currently ranked no. 18 in⁤ the PIF WTA rankings, attended the Chanel Métiers d’Art show in⁣ New York City on December ⁢2, turning heads in a black-and-white tweed jacket and skirt paired with a black turtleneck. The ​event, held on an abandoned subway platform on Manhattan’s Lower ‌East Side, drew a star-studded crowd including ‌A$AP Rocky, Margaret Qualley, Kristen Stewart, emily Ratajkowski, and Jenny Slate. Models arrived by train, and guests viewed the collection ⁢from orange subway benches. Mboko was seen in conversation with rock legend Jon Bon Jovi​ and former Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.

Following the fashion show, Mboko traveled to Ottawa where⁣ she met with Prime Minister Carney at Parliament Hill on December 4, accompanied by her family. ‌The Prime Minister congratulated Mboko on her ⁤achievements, stating, “What an honor it is that you’re here. How proud we are of everything that you’ve‌ accomplished at such a young age,” according to The Canadian Press.

Mboko presented the Prime minister with her National ‌Bank Open trophy and signed a racquet – the very one she used to defeat Naomi ‌Osaka in the Montreal final.

The meeting and fashion show appearance come at the end of‌ a remarkable 2025 season for Mboko. Starting the ⁢year ranked No.⁣ 333, she​ posted a 60-14 record, climbing 315 spots in the rankings. ‍Her success⁤ included ⁣winning the WTA 1000 title​ in ‍Montreal ‍and the WTA 250 Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open in ⁢early November. ‌Mboko has also been nominated for the WTA Newcomer of the Year award.
