Breaking: Czech Rapper Vercetti Sentenced to Five Years in Slovak Prison in Drug Case
Dominik Vyšaty, known professionally as Vercetti, a prominent figure in the Czech rap scene, has been sentenced to five years imprisonment by a Slovak court. The 26-year-old rapper pleaded guilty to charges of unauthorized production and trading of narcotic and psychotropic substances as part of a plea bargain finalized on Friday, October 6, 2023. In addition to the prison term, Vercetti will be expelled from Slovakia for five years following his release.
The charges stemmed from a police examination that uncovered cocaine, hashish, and GHB – commonly referred to as “liquid ecstasy” – in Vercetti’s possession. GHB is classified as a central nervous system depressant and is often associated with date rape and other serious health risks. The case gained heightened attention following the death of a 20-year-old woman at Vercetti’s recording studio in December 2022. According to CNN Prima News, Vercetti contacted emergency services, but paramedics were unable to revive the woman. the investigation into the woman’s death remains seperate from the drug trafficking charges.
Vercetti rose to prominence through his participation in the Czech-Slovak rap battle league, Clash 1, and has amassed a meaningful following with tracks like “Škvára” and “Mág.” He operates his label, Milion Plus, and has collaborated with artists such as Yzomandias.
