Venezuelan television personality Albert Vielma is facing public backlash after a perceived dismissive response to a question from Canal I, a network he previously worked for. The incident occurred while Vielma was accompanying singer Noreh at an event, according to reports from NotiUlti and Meridiano.net.
When approached by Canal I’s team for comment on his current projects with the program “La Bomba,” Vielma reportedly responded curtly, stating, “To my ex-Zona. To give you an exclusive, I’ll give it to my television program,” as reported by Meridiano.net. The remark was interpreted by many as arrogant and disrespectful towards the channel that fostered his early career.
The response quickly ignited criticism on social media, with users accusing Vielma of exhibiting an inflated ego. Comments cited by Meridiano.net included accusations that he was acting like a “divo” and a call for him to “be grateful to the channel and the program that made him grow.” Others questioned his level of experience in the media industry.
Canal I’s program “Zona I,” currently hosted by Ronald Sanoja, Paula Bevilacqua, and Úrsula Kabbara, responded to Vielma’s comments with a satirical parody of the interview, according to NotiUlti. Ronald Sanoja, during the program, mockingly referenced having a camera crew from “the channel I always dreamed of,” a pointed response to Vielma’s dismissal.
This incident follows a period of professional transition for Vielma. In June 2025, he announced on Instagram that he had been invited to appear as a guest host on Meridiano’s “RondaTV” after a year without a regular hosting role. But, his recent interaction with Canal I appears to have overshadowed this recent opportunity.
Prior to the current controversy, Vielma had announced his departure from Canal I in 2024 after five years with the network, expressing gratitude for the experiences and relationships he cultivated there, as detailed in a video posted to his social media accounts and reported by El Periodicode Monagas. He had previously worked his way up through the organization, starting as a production assistant and eventually becoming a host on “Zona I.”
