The project encountered a setback when a lease agreement for the False Creek barge fell through after months of negotiation. Vancouver Floating Sauna Project Hits Snag, owner Seeks New Location

Vancouver’s hopes for a floating sauna experience have been temporarily dashed. Havn, the company behind the project, is now seeking a new location after a lease agreement for their planned False Creek barge fell thru.

Lease Agreement Collapses

After three and a half months of negotiations, the lease contract for the False Creek/Plaza of Nations location was unsuccessful. According to Havn CEO Nick Van Buren, So the location at False Creek/Plaza of Nations has fallen through. We’ve been working on a lease contract for three-and-a-half months, and it went south, and deals off. The company had submitted a development permit to the city, but that request is now being withdrawn.

Development Permit Cancelled

with no lease in place, the development permit is no longer viable.Van Buren expressed his disappointment, stating, We’re cancelling our development permit, so we’ve got nowhere to put the barge, sorry Vancouver.
