THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The UT Arlington women’s golf team concluded the second round of the Texas Golf Throwdown on Monday, finishing the day in fifth place at the Woodlands Country Club. The Mavericks posted a 33-over-par 609 across the first two rounds of the three-round tournament.
Senior Nitisha Manikandesh currently leads the UTA contingent, tied for 19th overall with a two-round total of 7-over 151. She recorded the team’s best single-round score of the tournament, a 1-over 73 in the second round, finishing that round 1-under-par on the back nine.
Junior Nirjara Gulhane is tied for 25th place after carding rounds of 78 and 75, for a total of 153. Gulhane demonstrated strong play in the second round, recording a team-high four birdies.
Tarini Bhoga followed closely behind, finishing with a 10-over 154 and securing a tie for 30th place. Bhoga posted a 2-over 74 in the second round. Chandler Browning is tied for 33rd with a two-round score of 155 (79-76), while Kamri Gabel rounded out the UTA lineup in a tie for 44th with a 14-over 158.
The final round of the Texas Golf Throwdown is scheduled to commence at 9 a.m. Tuesday. Live scoring and tournament updates are available on the tournament’s scoreboard.
UTA recently saw Gabel and the team finish second at the BGSU Women’s Intercollegiate, according to UT Arlington Athletics. The program as well recently announced the hiring of Yeji Shin as the Women’s Golf Assistant Coach.
