Military Aircraft Drops Sharply Near Yanbu
The military aircraft transmitted an emergency signal at approximately 5:20 p.m. Eastern Time on Monday, October 5, 2026, while flying near the western Saudi coastal city of Yanbu, according to detikNews. Public flight tracking data recorded the helicopter operating at an altitude of approximately 475 feet, or 144 meters, when the emergency situation was reported. CNN Indonesia noted that the aircraft’s recorded altitude subsequently dropped sharply to zero feet before completely disappearing from tracking data systems. iNews.ID verified the call sign as VVHR512 and confirmed that the flight data monitoring showed the elevation dropping from about 150 meters to zero prior to the signal loss.
