Russia Begins Fall‌ Conscription Drive, Aiming‍ to⁢ Mobilize 130,000

russia has launched its autumn conscription campaign, ‍seeking to enlist ⁢over 130,000 new soldiers before the end‌ of the year, state news agencies reported Monday. the⁣ move comes‌ as the ⁣conflict in‍ Ukraine continues adn follows a period of intense fighting.

The Ministry of ⁢Defense announced the draft will⁣ run from November 1st⁢ to ‌December 31st,targeting‌ men aged 18 to 27. Conscripts will‍ undergo basic military training before being deployed to various units across the country.

This conscription cycle follows⁣ a partial mobilization last ‌year, which aimed to add hundreds of thousands of troops to the Russian forces engaged in Ukraine. ⁤While the current draft is‍ presented⁢ as a routine measure,it underscores Russia’s ongoing need to replenish its ranks.

Simultaneously occurring, the united ⁢States is signaling ⁤a potential shift in its support for Ukraine. On Sunday,⁤ Keith⁢ Kellogg, an emissary for former President Donald Trump,‌ affirmed that Ukraine has been authorized to use long-range missiles‍ within Russia.”Use‍ the ability to strike in depth. There are no sanctuaries,” Kellogg stated on Fox News.

Senator J.D. Vance also revealed plans for Washington to facilitate the sale ‌of Tomahawk missiles to European countries for subsequent delivery to‍ Ukraine. ‌The final decision, Vance added, will be made by the President “in the best interests of the United ⁤states.”

This represents a‌ change in tone from the Trump administration, which ⁤previously suggested Ukraine might need to cede territory. Last week, Trump stated Ukraine ⁤coudl ⁢”Regain its ‌territory⁢ in its‍ original form and ‍perhaps even go further.”

The kremlin ⁤downplayed the ⁣potential impact of advanced weaponry.”There‌ is ⁣no panacea capable of ⁣changing the situation on the front for‌ the Kyiv regime. There is no magic weapon. Whether it’s tomahawks or other missiles, they cannot change anything,” Kremlin‍ spokesperson ⁣Dmitri Peskov said during a press briefing Monday.
