US and PSI Pledge to Prevent Weapons Transfers to and from Iran
The United States and Proliferation Security Initiative participants pledged to prevent the transfer of weapons to and from Iran, issuing a joint statement marking one year since the reinstatement of UN Security Council resolutions, jpost.com reported.
Eight Entities Sanctioned Under Operation Economic Outcast
The United States Department of State announced new sanctions targeting eight entities and five individuals involved in procuring weapons and components for Iran, according to state.gov. Iran has continued attempts to acquire arms and expand destabilizing activities in violation of these renewed international measures.
Participating countries committed to enhanced intelligence-sharing, streamlined information transfers, and targeted interdiction measures. State.gov noted that the United States has imposed dozens of sanctions on Iranian procurement networks since September 2025. Officials have also engaged representatives from 40 countries to strengthen enforcement. Meanwhile, Russia and China have obstructed the UN Security Council from implementing updated identifying information for Iranian entities on the UN Consolidated Sanctions List.
Strait of Hormuz Control and Regional Economic Impact

The United States continues calling on all UN member states to fulfill binding nonproliferation obligations and cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Over the last year, the United States rallied representatives from 40 countries to strengthen implementation of the reimposed UN measures against Iran.
