Uno-X Mobility announces Magnus Sheffield joins on four-year contract

Uno-X Mobility announces Magnus Sheffield joins on four-year contract

October 7, 2026 Alex Carter - Sports Editor Sport

Magnus Sheffield is leaving Netcompany Ineos after five seasons to join Uno-X Mobility on a four-year contract through 2030, the Norwegian team announced on Wednesday. The American rider, who holds dual US-Norwegian citizenship and speaks Norwegian, described the transfer as coming full circle after early career contact with the Scandinavian squad.

Contract Terms and Squad Additions for 2027

The four-year agreement secures Sheffield through the 2030 racing calendar. Uno-X Mobility General Manager Thor Hushovd called the acquisition a major signing, pointing to the rider’s versatility across multiple terrain types. Sheffield joins several incoming riders for the 2027 roster, including Casper Pedersen from Soudal-Quickstep, Felix Ørn-Kristoff from Lotto Intermarché, and Kristian Egholm from Lidl-Trek Future Racing.

Norwegian Roots Helped Sheffield Connect with Uno-X

His mother grew up in Gjøvik before moving to the United States at age twenty, where she met his parents. The family maintained Norwegian traditions and used the language at home as a dual household standard. Sheffield noted that he previously spoke with Uno-X management during his junior career, establishing an early pathway toward the team.

Palmarès and Team Transitions

During his tenure with Netcompany Ineos, Sheffield captured De Brabantse Pijl in his debut WorldTour season, secured stage victories at Paris-Nice and the Vuelta a Andalucia, and finished fourth overall at Paris-Nice alongside a sixth-place finish at the Tour of Flanders. Meanwhile, Netcompany Ineos is managing other roster exits for 2027, with AJ August transferring to Pinarello Q36.5 and Artem Shmidt joining NSN Cycling, while the British team has added junior world champion Benjamin Noval.
