Mario Lopez Replaces Max Kellerman and LeSean McCoy on DAZN’s Inside the Ring
Mario Lopez is taking over as the host of DAZN’s combat sports show “Inside the Ring” for its second season, replacing Max Kellerman and LeSean McCoy. The platform confirmed the casting change as part of a broader shakeup of the program, which streams twice a week on DAZN Boxing and Ring Magazine’s YouTube pages.
The reshaped program premieres Thursday with a refreshed panel. Boxing insider Mike Coppinger announced Monday that he will return to the show alongside a rotating panel of analysts joining Lopez. The format adjustments follow reports from Total Boxing last week that Turki Alalshikh agreed to sell a controlling piece of Ring Magazine to DAZN.
Lopez enters the role with documented experience in the sport. He has trained for several years at Freddie Roach’s Wild Card Boxing Club near Los Angeles and frequently shares training updates on social media. His combat sports credentials also include serving as a longtime host of “The 3 Knockdown Rule” podcast alongside Ring Magazine’s Steve Kim, as well as making guest appearances as a color commentator on various boxing broadcasts. Outside of sports, Lopez hosted the entertainment news program “Extra” from 2007 to 2019 and starred as A.C. Slater in “Saved By the Bell,” including its 2020 reboot.
Kellerman Continues With Zuffa Boxing Following ESPN Departure
While Kellerman is not returning to DAZN’s program, he remains active in combat sports broadcasting. He will continue calling matches for Zuffa Boxing, a collaborative venture between the Saudi Public Investment Fund and TKO. Kellerman previously joined ESPN in 2016 to replace Skip Bayless on “First Take” before the network laid him off in 2023. Following his departure from ESPN, his first broadcasting role came in September 2025 when he provided commentary for the Canelo Álvarez versus Terence Crawford fight broadcast on Netflix.
Front Office Sports first reported that both Kellerman and McCoy would not return for the second season of “Inside the Ring.” DAZN has structured the refreshed weekly episodes to feature Coppinger and the incoming rotating analyst panel alongside Lopez as the show establishes its new broadcast cadence on digital platforms.
