The Galaxy Z Fold7 stands out as the thinnest and lightest in its series. When unfolded, it measures just 4.2 millimeters thick; when folded, 8.9 millimeters. Its weight is a mere 215 grams.
The device feels remarkably similar to standard smartphones and is thinner than a typical passport. Its cover display features a 21:9 aspect ratio, making tasks more manageable without needing to unfold it. In fact, global smartphone shipments of foldable phones are expected to reach 101.5 million units in 2027, up from 15.9 million in 2023 (Statista).
Upgraded Hinge and Display
The Armor FlexHinge is both thinner and more durable. Furthermore, the upgraded hinge structure makes the crease on the foldable display less noticeable.
High-Resolution Camera Capabilities
A notable upgrade is the 200-megapixel camera, the first for the Galaxy Z Fold series. This new camera captures four times the detail of previous 50-megapixel models. Paired with the AI-powered ProVisual Engine, it promises vivid colors and sharper images.
Nightography ensures clear shots in low light, and the front camera has been widened to a 100-degree field of view.
AI Integration and User Interface
The Galaxy Z Fold7 is the first device to feature One UI 8, incorporating **Samsung’s** multimodal AI experience. By using Google’s Gemini Live, users are able to share their screens with the AI assistant, which facilitates contextual help based on the screen’s content.
The AI can save restaurant lists and set calendar reminders, streamlining daily routines without switching apps. This function is enhanced by the Galaxy Z Fold7’s Multi-Window feature.
