Three students are celebrating their admission to prestigious programs at the National University (UNAM),highlighting the importance of dedication, discipline, and perseverance in achieving their goals.
Lizette Jacqueline Cruz emphasized that academic scores are not the sole measure of a person’s worth, stating, “A score does not define us, they should not give up, that’s what the life is about to fail and try again.”
Anna Sofia’s aspiration to attend UNAM began at age seven when her mother took her on a tour of University City. She will now study at the Faculty of Medicine.
Daniela Villalobos will also join the faculty of Medicine, becoming the first in her family to attend the National University. Meanwhile,Lizette jacqueline Cruz and bruno García will pursue aerospace engineering at the Faculty of Engineering.
Bruno attributes his success to sustained effort and dedicated study sessions. He expressed his excitement about the opportunity to study his chosen field at one of Mexico’s few universities offering aerospace engineering. Lizette echoed this sentiment, stating, “This achievement is a product of discipline and perseverance, ‘it makes me happy as all my efforts was worth it, not because of the score, but because I struggled a lot and having been admitted shows that it was worth it.'”
All three students dedicated months and several hours daily to prepare for their entrance exams. Anna Sofia shared, “I will not deny it: there were days when I didn’t want to continue, but I remembered my parents, what my goal was and from there grabbed strength and motivation to continue.” Bruno found the commitment worthwhile, particularly for the pride and satisfaction of joining the university community.
Lizette Cruz is preparing for her move to Mexico City on July 28,planning to spend a month with her mother and possibly rent an apartment or room near Ciudad University to acclimate.Anna Sofía is also planning to move, seeking a room near campus to reduce her five-hour commute from Ecatepec to UNAM.
