Ukrainian forces conducted strikes overnight on November 11th, targeting an oil refinery in Russia’s Saratov Oblast, a key fuel terminal in occupied Crimea, and military infrastructure in Russian-occupied Donetsk oblast, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.
According to Russia’s Defense Ministry, Russian air defenses intercepted 37 drones, including eight over Saratov Oblast. A series of explosions and a notable fire broke out at the Saratov oil refinery following the Ukrainian strike, with the extent of the damage currently under assessment.
This marks the seventh drone attack on the Saratov oil refinery since the beginning of 2025, following a previous incident on November 3rd.The refinery processes over 20 types of petroleum products, including gasoline, diesel, fuel oil, and bitumen, and handled approximately 4.8 million metric tons of crude oil in 2023.
Saratov Governor Roman Busargin stated via Telegram that drones caused damage to civilian infrastructure, but did not specifically confirm a strike on the refinery itself.Russian media reported temporary flight restrictions at the regional airport following the attack. Saratov is a major industrial center located roughly 150 kilometers (about 100 miles) from the border with Kazakhstan and approximately 600 kilometers (370 miles) east of the Ukrainian front line.
Along with the refinery strike, Ukrainian forces targeted fuel tanks at the Sea Oil Terminal in Feodosia, Russian-occupied Crimea. This terminal is a crucial logistical point for supplying fuels and lubricants by sea to the Crimean peninsula and occupied areas of southern Ukraine.
Further attacks were reported in Russian-occupied Donetsk Oblast, where Ukrainian drones struck a Russian military warehouse and a troop concentration near the village of Ocheretyne.
