Manchester United Women secured a 2-1 victory over Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) at Old Trafford on Wednesday, marking their third consecutive win in the UEFA Women’s Champions League this season. The result confirms their progression to the quarter-finals, a stage they reach for the first time in their history.

The match, played in front of a home crowd, saw Manchester United overcome a strong PSG side. According to a post on the club’s official Facebook page, the win represents a significant milestone in the team’s Champions League journey.

Manchester United Women Football Club was founded in May 2018 and quickly rose through the ranks, gaining promotion to the Women’s Super League (WSL) at the end of the 2018–19 season. The club is co-owned by Manchester United plc (75%) and Ineos (25%), with Joel and Avram Glazer serving as co-chairmen. Marc Skinner currently manages the team, who play their home games at Leigh Sports Village, which has a capacity of 12,000.

This season marks Manchester United’s debut in the Champions League quarter-finals. They previously lifted their first major honour with a 2023–24 Women’s FA Cup victory, also achieving a debut appearance in the competition this year.

The quarter-final draw for the 2025/26 UEFA Women’s Champions League has been set, with Manchester United among the teams competing for a place in the semi-finals. The next stage of the competition is scheduled for March 24/25 and April 1/2.
