UConn vs. South Florida: Game Preview, Records, and Upcoming Events

TAMPA, Fla. – The No. ‍1 UConn women’s basketball team⁣ (7-0)‍ will face‍ South Florida (5-3) on Tuesday at 5 p.m. in the Yuengling Center, marking their first trip‍ to USF as February 16, 2020, when both teams ⁤were members of the American Athletic Conference. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2 and ⁣the UConn Sports Network from Learfield (FOX Sports 97.9).

UConn boasts a 34-0 all-time record against​ the ​Bulls and is 142-0 overall against American ‌Athletic Conference opponents, having gone 139-0 in conference regular season and tournament games during their time in the league from 2013-20. The Huskies⁣ previously secured NCAA championships in Tampa in both 2015 and 2025.

In their most recent outing,UConn dominated Xavier,104-39,on Sunday to open ⁣BIG EAST play,with six Huskies⁢ scoring‍ in double​ figures. Sophomore Allie Ziebell‌ led the ⁣scoring with 16 points, including five three-pointers in 16 minutes, while sarah strong contributed 14 points, ​six rebounds, ⁢eight assists, and six steals. UConn‍ capitalized ⁣with 45 bench points and ‍42 points ‍off turnovers against the⁤ Musketeers.

South Florida comes ‌off a 90-58⁣ victory over New orleans on Sunday. Edyn Battle currently leads the⁤ Bulls in scoring, averaging⁣ 14.2 points per game.⁣ Michele Woods-Baxter was appointed interim head coach ‌of South ⁣Florida in​ October.

Looking ahead, UConn will return to Gampel⁤ Pavilion this sunday to host DePaul at 1⁢ p.m. Prior ⁣to the game, the Huskies will officially retire the no. 10 jersey in⁣ honor of Sue ​Bird. ⁢The game will air on FS1, and limited ‌tickets are ‌still ‍available⁤ at https://uconnhuskies.evenue.net/event/BB25/WB03.
