UCLA Soccer Star Lexi Wright Nominated for Allstate NACDA Good works Team
UCLA women’s soccer player Lexi Wright has been nominated for the Allstate NACDA good Works team, recognizing her dedication to community service, academics, and athletics.
Wright, a redshirt senior forward, actively supports children battling cancer through Zoe’s Goal-Scoring Against Childhood Cancer. She regularly visits patients at UCLA’s Mattel Children’s Hospital, providing support and encouragement.
“Hearing Zoe’s story and how she persevered inspired me to use my platform to bring hope and joy to those facing unimaginable challenges,” Wright stated. “Being so close to the UCLA Hospital gives me and my team the unique possibility to regularly visit and spend time with these amazing kids.”
beyond her work with Zoe’s Goal-Scoring Against Childhood Cancer, Wright volunteers with Unified, a UCLA organization that hosts inclusive sports events for children with special needs, and Football For Her, a non-profit promoting female participation in football.
On the field, Wright has been a key player for the UCLA Bruins, contributing to three conference championships and an NCAA title. She scored a crucial goal in the 2022 NCAA championship game and earned College Cup All-Tournament Team honors. Despite an injury last year, she maintained her academic standing, earning Academic All-Big Ten honors.
The Allstate NACDA Good works Team will announce its 20-member team (10 female, 10 male) on August 26, along with a student captain. View the full list of nominees here.
