Tyreek Hill: Stats, Injury Update & Future with the Dolphins – NFL 2026

by Alex Carter - Sports Editor

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill is currently rehabilitating a knee injury, with the team facing a significant financial decision regarding his future, according to reports. Hill, who led the NFL with 1,799 receiving yards in 2023, reports being able to walk independently without a splint, expressing optimism about a return for the 2026 season.

The 31-year-old Hill, drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft, won Super Bowl LIV with the team in 2020. He was traded to the Miami Dolphins in 2022. Throughout his career, Hill has been consistently recognized for his exceptional speed and skill, earning eight Pro Bowl selections (2016-2023) and five First-team All-Pro honors (2016, 2018, 2020, 2022, 2023). He similarly led the NFL in receiving yards in 2023.

However, the Dolphins may be forced to consider releasing Hill before March 13 to alleviate salary cap pressures. Despite his ongoing rehabilitation, Hill is also exploring interests outside of football, including DJing and potential ventures in construction, education and automotive fields, viewing these as creative outlets rather than potential career exits.

In his most recent game against the New York Jets on September 29, 2026, Hill’s contributions were primarily focused on blocking, with no recorded receptions, yards, or touchdowns. Overall this season, Hill has one touchdown, 265 receiving yards from 21 receptions, averaging 12.6 yards per catch – slightly above the league average of 11 yards per catch.

Hill previously stated that he believes the current Dolphins team is superior to the Kansas City Chiefs squad he won a Super Bowl with, citing the coaching staff’s preparation and attention to detail as key factors. He also acknowledged the unique team dynamic, describing a level of camaraderie he hadn’t experienced previously.
