The shooting occurred when an unidentified assailant entered the barbershop and fired at least five rounds without warning. According to Commissioner Pablo López of the Los Ángeles Homicide Brigade, the attacker extracted a firearm from his clothing and opened fire before fleeing the scene. He noted that the shooter acted without mediation of provocation and suddenly.
The victims were immediately transported to the local emergency center (SAR) in Cabrero before being transferred to the hospital for specialized care. The victims sustained injuries to the abdomen and legs but are currently out of danger. Commissioner López confirmed that both victims are adults.

The barbershop owner confirmed via social media that while the victims were injured, they are recovering, stating, my father and brother did not run with the same luck, but now they are out of risk.

Concurrent Police Operations in Cabrero
On the same day as the barbershop shooting, authorities conducted a separate police operation in the Jardines del Alto sector of Cabrero. Following reports of gunfire in the area around 9:00 a.m., Carabineros arrested seven individuals, all Chilean nationals. The charges include illegal possession of firearms, trespassing, and the possession of a vehicle reported stolen in the commune of Hualqui. Police seized two pistols with modified magazines and a revolver linked to a robbery in Tomeco, Yumbel. While the proximity of the two incidents has drawn public attention, authorities have not yet confirmed a direct link between the morning operation and the afternoon shooting at the barbershop. Following the morning operation, the Prosecutor’s Office instructed the OS9 of Carabineros and Labocar to continue the investigative efforts.
