Pilot and Co-Pilot Identified in Fatal Incident
Tragedy struck at London Southend Airport as a plane crash claimed the lives of four individuals, including two Dutch nationals. The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed the fatalities, identifying the Dutch victims as the pilot and co-pilot.
Cause of Crash Under Investigation
Authorities are currently probing the circumstances that led to the devastating accident. The aircraft, en route from London Southend to Lelystad Airport, crashed shortly after takeoff. Eyewitnesses described a “huge fireball” erupting at the scene.
The third passenger has been identified as a woman of Chilean nationality, while the fourth victim was a doctor from an unspecified European country, according to British broadcaster Sky News.
Zeusch Aviation Statement
The crashed aircraft belonged to Zeusch Aviation, a Dutch company based at Lelystad Airport. The company has pledged its full cooperation with the ongoing investigation into the incident’s cause. In a statement, Zeusch Aviation expressed their condolences, saying, “Our thoughts go out to everyone who is affected.”
Zeusch Aviation specializes in various small aircraft operations, including medical evacuations, aerial filming, and air surveillance. Reports indicate the crashed plane was a Beechcraft B200 Super King Air, which was reportedly equipped with medical systems.
Airport Operations Disrupted
All flights at Southend Airport have been canceled as a result of the crash. Passengers are advised to contact their respective airlines for updated travel information. The airport primarily handles European and domestic routes.
