Turkish Women’s Volleyball Team to Share $500,000 Prize Following world Championship Silver Medal
Bangkok, Thailand – Teh Turkish Women’s National Volleyball Team, nicknamed “The Sultans of the Net,” will collectively receive a $500,000 prize following their second-place finish at the 2025 FIVB World Championship held in Thailand. The Turkish Volleyball Federation (TVF) confirmed the prize money, awarded by the FIVB for the team’s performance, will be distributed equally among the 14 players on the roster.
The team secured the silver medal after a hard-fought final against Italy, who took home the championship title and a $1 million prize. Brazil finished third, receiving $250,000.
In addition to the FIVB prize, players and the technical team will also receive success premiums determined by the TVF. Each player is expected to receive approximately 1.5 million Turkish Lira (TL) from the FIVB prize pool, supplementing the federation’s bonus structure.This marks the greatest success in the history of Turkish volleyball.
