Tucumán to Hold Free Flu and Dengue Vaccination Day This Saturday
San Miguel de Tucumán - The Ministry of Public Health of Tucumán will host a free vaccination day this Saturday, October 4, offering protection against both seasonal flu and dengue fever. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the family vaccination center located at Av. Mate de Luna 1901.
The campaign, spearheaded by Minister of Public Health Dr. Luis Medina Ruiz, focuses on key at-risk groups to minimize complications during peak viral circulation.
Flu vaccinations will be available for:
* Healthcare workers
* Pregnant and postpartum women (up to 10 days postparto)
* Children aged 6 to 24 months
* Individuals between 2 and 64 years with underlying health conditions
* People 65 years and older
Dengue vaccinations are targeted towards:
* Healthcare, education, and security personnel
* Registered individuals between 10 and 49 years of age
Additionally, pregnant women between 32 and 36 weeks gestation can receive the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccine, designed to protect their newborns from severe illness.
This initiative underscores the provincial governmentS commitment to proactive and accessible public health, according to the Ministry. Officials emphasize ongoing efforts to expand vaccination coverage and anticipate emerging epidemiological challenges.
