Trump Spokesperson Attacks Bruce Springsteen With Song Title-Laden Insult
The White House responded to Bruce Springsteen’s announcement of his 2026 “Land of Hope and Dreams” tour with a sharply worded statement, dismissing the musician as a “loser” suffering from “Trump Derangement Syndrome.” The response, delivered by Senior Communications Director Steven Cheung, came after Politico inquired about the administration’s reaction to Springsteen’s pointed criticism of President Donald Trump.
Springsteen, in announcing the tour, stated he and the E Street Band would be “rocking your town in celebration and in defense of America — American democracy, American freedom, our American Constitution and our sacred American dream – all of which are under attack by our wannabe king and his rogue government in Washington D.C.”
Cheung’s retort, released Wednesday, read, “When this loser Springsteen comes back home to his own City of Ruins in his head, he’ll realize his Glory Days are behind him and his fans have left him Out in the Street, putting him in a Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out because he has a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome that has rotted his brain.”
The statement drew immediate attention for its length and reliance on Springsteen song titles.
Springsteen has been a consistent and vocal critic of Trump, particularly since the start of the former president’s second term. This year, he released the protest song “Streets of Minneapolis” following the killing of Alex Pretti by ICE in January, an event the White House previously dismissed as “random” and “irrelevant.”
The “Land of Hope and Dreams” tour is scheduled to begin March 31, 2026, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and will conclude May 27, 2026, at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C.
