Trump Redesigns Lincoln Bathroom in White House, Citing Historical Inaccuracy
WASHINGTON D.C. – President Donald Trump has continued his series of renovations to the White House, moast recently completing a redesign of the bathroom adjacent to Abraham Lincoln’s bedroom. The former president unveiled images of the remodeled space on his Truth Social account, showcasing a shift from the previous design to a black and white Carrara marble aesthetic.
Trump has long been critical of the bathroom’s prior renovation, which was completed in 1945 under President Harry Truman. He described the earlier art deco style, featuring green tile, as “completely inappropriate for the Lincoln era.”
“I renovated the Lincoln bathroom in the White House,” Trump wrote in a post accompanying the images. ”It was renovated in the 1940s in an art deco style with green tile… I made it in black and white polished Carrara marble. It’s very appropriate for Abraham Lincoln’s time, and it might actually be the marble that was there originally!”
The bathroom, part of the suite traditionally used to host White House guests of honor, now features polished Carrara marble, gold-colored fixtures, and mirrors with gilded frames.
This renovation follows other meaningful changes made by Trump during his presidency, including plans for a $300 million ballroom and alterations to the Oval Office décor. The Lincoln bedroom and bathroom have been subject to periodic updates throughout the White House’s history, but Trump’s redesign marks a significant stylistic departure from the Truman-era modifications.
