Trump Expresses Disapproval of Russian Airspace Incursion into estonia
WASHINGTON – U.S. President Donald Trump stated he was displeased with the recent violation of Estonian airspace by three Russian MiG-31 fighter jets. The incident, occurring Friday, has heightened tensions in the region and prompted a response from NATO.
Speaking to journalists at the White House, Trump said, “I do not like it. It may be a big problem. I have to check it. I will soon get to know this briefly.” The comment came in response to a question regarding the unauthorized entry of the Russian aircraft.
The three MiG-31s entered Estonian airspace on Friday, remaining over the Finnish Gulf for approximately 12 minutes, according to reports. Following the incursion,Estonia‘s Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Russian chargé d’affaires to lodge a protest.
European Union Foreign Policy Chief Kaja Kallas described the event as an “extremely dangerous provocation.” NATO Press Secretary Alison Gart confirmed the airspace violation and stated that the alliance responded to the incident with its own fighter aircraft. The incident underscores ongoing concerns about russian military activity near NATO member states and the potential for escalation.
