Trump Issues Ultimatum to Hamas: “This is My last Warning“
NEW YORK – Former US President Donald Trump issued a stark ultimatum to Hamas today, demanding the immediate release of hostages and declaring it “his last warning” before unspecified consequences. The statement, posted on Trump’s social media platform Truth Social during the US Open final in New York, reiterated his previous threats of severe repercussions if Hamas fails to comply.
“It is time for Hamas to accept my conditions and release hostages,” Trump wrote. He added, “Everyone wants hostages to return home. Everyone wants this war to end! Israelis accepted my conditions. It is time for hamas to accept them too.”
Trump emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating, “I warned Hamas against the consequences of lack of acceptance. This is my last warning, there will be no next!”
The former president underscored the difficulty of negotiations, noting that hostages remain a critical bargaining chip for the terrorist organization. He warned that as the number of hostages dwindles, the likelihood of their release diminishes, perhaps requiring “capitulation of Hamas.” Trump suggested the Israeli army’s estimate of at least 20 hostages still alive out of the original 48 detained may be outdated.
The ultimatum follows Hamas’s recent acceptance, last month,of a proposal from mediators in Qatar and Egypt for a 60-day arms suspension in exchange for the release of 10 hostages. This offer was built upon a plan developed by US envoy Steve Witkoff in collaboration with Israel.
While the specifics of Trump’s “conditions” remain unclear, his position – demanding action from Hamas – remains firm.
