Trump Governance Links Autism to Common Pain Reliever, Despite Expert Disagreement

WASHINGTON – In a controversial announcement Monday, President Donald Trump claimed his administration has found a link between autism in children and the use of a common anti-fever medication during pregnancy. The claim, made at a press conference alongside U.S. Health Minister Robert Kennedy Jr., flies in the face of established medical consensus.

Kennedy jr. had previously pledged to investigate the causes of rising autism rates in the U.S., promising findings by the end of September. “By September,we will know what caused an autism epidemic, and we will be able to eliminate these factors,” he said, despite skepticism from researchers about the feasibility of such a rapid investigation.

Trump stated, “I think it will be one of the most significant things we will do,” before announcing the alleged connection. The medication contains acetyl aminophenol, commonly known as paracetamol outside of the United States.

The announcement immediately drew criticism from medical professionals, who maintain there is no scientific evidence supporting a link between the drug and autism.
