Nottingham Forest are reportedly close to securing the signing of Adama Traoré, who is currently at Fulham. The winger’s contract with Fulham is set to expire, and he is a player highly regarded by Forest’s manager, Nuno Espírito Santo, with whom Traoré previously worked at wolves.
Traoré joined Fulham on a free transfer two seasons ago from Wolves, where he spent three years under Nuno’s management, contributing to their two seventh-place finishes in the Premier League. His pace is a important asset, and his potential arrival at Forest is seen as a way to compensate for the departure of Anthony Elanga, who was sold to Newcastle United for £55 million earlier in the transfer window. As Nottingham Forest prepares for their first European competition in three decades, they are also considering an improved offer for Manchester City’s James mcatee. Their initial bid of £20 million, with an additional £5 million in add-ons, was rejected by City for the England Under-21 international.
In other transfer news, Everton have completed the signing of Adam Aznou, a young left-back from Bayern Munich, for approximately £8 million. The 19-year-old Moroccan international previously spent three years in Barcelona’s La Masia academy before moving to Bayern at the age of 16. He has made four senior appearances for Bayern, including one in the recent Club World Cup, and played 13 times in La Liga last season while on loan at Real Valladolid.
Aznou becomes Everton’s fourth signing of the summer and is expected to provide competition for Vitalii Mykolenko, who was the club’s sole established left-back. Aznou has signed a four-year contract with the Merseyside club. Everton manager David Moyes expressed his satisfaction with the signing, stating, “He’s a young, talented player with a lot of potential. Left-backs are not easy to get and we’ve brought in a young player who we hope will grow in his time at Everton.”
Meanwhile, Leicester City have signed goalkeeper Asmir Begovic on a one-year deal. The 38-year-old veteran was a free agent after his contract with Everton ended last season. Begovic, who has previously played for Premier League clubs Bournemouth, Chelsea, and Stoke City, reunites with Leicester’s head coach Martí Cifuentes, having previously worked together at Queens Park Rangers during the 2023-24 season. Begovic’s arrival marks Leicester’s first summer acquisition, with the club facing financial constraints that may impact their ability to retain their primary goalkeeper, Mads Hermansen, who has attracted interest from top-flight clubs.
