According to reports from Fabrizio Romano, manchester United have initiated contact with Aston Villa and Martinez’s representatives, with the 32-year-old Argentine reportedly favoring a move to Old Trafford. United are seeking an experienced goalkeeper following inconsistent performances from Andre Onana and a lack of readiness from Altay Bayindir. Martinez’s track record includes strong shot-stopping ability and command of his penalty area, and after achieving success at Villa – including a trophy win – a move could appeal to the player.
Simultaneously occurring, Chelsea’s forward options have been impacted by a hamstring injury sustained by Liam Delap during Saturday’s match against Fulham. As a result, The Athletic’s David Ornstein reports that Chelsea are now in negotiations with Sporting Lisbon for 20-year-old Danish international Conrad Harder. The injury to Delap has also altered plans for Nicolas Jackson, who, while previously expected to join Bayern Munich on loan, may now be sold permanently to generate funds for a replacement.
