Mbeumo’s Future Uncertain as Manchester United Stalls

The fate of Bryan Mbeumo hangs in the balance as Manchester United hesitates on a transfer deal. Brentford’s sporting director, Phil Giles, has revealed the player’s openness to staying, injecting a twist into the summer’s transfer saga.

Mbeumo’s Preference

Phil Giles has suggested that the player would prefer a move to Manchester United. However, if a deal cannot be struck, Mbeumo would be content remaining at Brentford, according to the sporting director.

“There is significant interest in Bryan. I think it has been documented and publicised about his current preference. I think from what I understand, he is also, if needs be, happy to stay at Brentford next year as well. So, listen, let’s see on that,”

The current transfer market shows an average Premier League player valuation of £30 million, highlighting the financial stakes involved (Premier League Data, 2024).

Club’s Stance

Brentford has already rejected two bids from Manchester United, the highest of which was £62.5 million. The club is open to selling if their valuation is met, but they are also prepared to keep Mbeumo for another season.
