Toyota ‌Reports Record First-Half Global Vehicle⁣ Sales, Driven by Hybrid Demand

Nagoya, Japan – October⁢ 27, 2025 – Toyota Motor‍ Corp. announced⁢ today it’s parent-only global vehicle sales⁣ for the‌ April-September period reached a record 5,267,216 units,⁣ a 4.7 ‌percent increase compared ⁣to the same period last year. Including sales from subsidiaries Daihatsu‌ Motor Co. and Hino Motors Ltd., the⁤ Toyota group’s total global sales also hit a⁢ new high of 5,643,042 units, up 5.0 percent.

This surge in sales ⁣underscores ⁢Toyota’s continued strength in key markets and highlights growing consumer⁢ preference for hybrid technology. The results are particularly⁣ significant as the automotive industry navigates a complex landscape of economic uncertainty and intensifying competition, especially in regions like China. The record sales position Toyota favorably as it looks toward the⁣ remainder of its fiscal year and continued investment ‍in electric vehicle development.

The⁤ growth was primarily fueled by strong ⁢demand for Toyota’s hybrid vehicles in North ⁣America, where sales jumped 10.5 percent. Popular models like‍ the RAV4 ‍SUV ‌and Camry⁣ sedan⁤ contributed considerably to this increase.‍ In China, despite‍ an increasingly ‌competitive market marked by price wars,‍ Toyota experienced a 5.5 percent sales increase, boosted by the recent launch ⁣of a new electric vehicle.

The ‌data, released ⁤by toyota on‌ Monday, reflects sales figures as of October 27, 2025 (JST), according⁣ to a report‌ from Jiji Press.
