Mayor Spencer Duncan Outlines Growth and Balance
Topeka Mayor Spencer Duncan led most of the presentation. He said Topeka has always found a way forward through hardships.
Addressing the city’s status, Duncan noted that while flaws and areas needing progress remain, the situation is far from hopeless.
Duncan said a change in mindset is needed for the city to grow.
What we want to do in this community is preserve what we have, and the wonderful communities we have, but we’ve also got to move forward, so we’ve got to find a way to balance those two things.
He said no one can do it alone.
It takes community investment, so I need folks in this room and this community to understand that, and be open to new ideas.
