Karin Londré and Marcus Berggren Launch Gothenburg Detective Agency Podcast
Karin Londré and Marcus Berggren are launching a new humor podcast titled Hisingens detektivbyrå on Sveriges Radio to investigate local myths and urban legends that shaped Gothenburg’s identity. The show premieres on November 5.
Podcast Investigates Local Legends and Urban Myths on Hisingen
The detective agency format dives straight into peculiar local lore on Hisingen. The first episode tackles whether people actually lived inside the Malm Whale at the Gothenburg Natural History Museum. Other cases on the docket include examining if public transport ticket inspectors are recruited from the theater academy, and whether musician Håkan Hellström sings as falsely as some say.
Londré works as a journalist and podcaster, while Berggren is a comedian and musician. The couple are married, bringing a personal dynamic to the recording booth. Berggren noted the regional scope of the current budget while outlining broader ambitions.
“I can see it being cases from all over Sweden, but haven’t anchored it with any SR bosses yet. So far it’s a very regional budget,” Berggren said.
Reaching Beyond Regional Audiences
Addressing how the show plans to attract listeners outside Gothenburg, Berggren emphasized the universal appeal of humor. Listeners will pick up local history unintentionally while enjoying the comedy.
“Just because you want a fun humor podcast. Then you learn a lot about the Malm Whale into the bargain,” Berggren said.
Collaborating with a spouse presents unique professional perks according to Londré, who pointed out that the pair discuss these exact topics during private time anyway. Working on them during designated hours simply formalizes existing conversations.
