Woman in Custody Following Hours-Long SWAT Standoff in Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – A Sunday night neighbor dispute escalated into a multi-hour SWAT standoff, resulting in the arrest of Esther Rosenthal, Albuquerque police reported.
According to the Albuquerque Police Department, officers responded to a call in the 4400 block of Walden Lane NE regarding a threat made by a neighbor.The caller reported being threatened with a firearm.
Upon arrival, officers identified the suspect as Esther Rosenthal, who was found to have two outstanding felony warrants – one for a probation violation and another for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Police stated that Rosenthal initially refused to leave the residence. After several hours of attempts to communicate through public address systems and phone calls, the Albuquerque Police SWAT team was deployed. Rosenthal was ultimately taken into custody without further incident.
