Woman in Custody Following Hours-Long SWAT Standoff in Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – A Sunday night neighbor dispute escalated⁢ into a multi-hour SWAT standoff, resulting in​ the arrest of Esther Rosenthal, Albuquerque police reported.

According to⁤ the Albuquerque Police Department, officers responded to a call in ⁢the 4400⁣ block of Walden Lane NE regarding a threat made by a neighbor.The caller reported‍ being threatened with a firearm.

Upon arrival, officers identified the suspect as ⁢Esther Rosenthal, who was found to have two‌ outstanding felony ⁤warrants – one for a probation violation and⁢ another for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Police stated that Rosenthal initially​ refused to leave the residence. After several hours of attempts to communicate through public address systems and phone calls, the Albuquerque Police SWAT team was deployed.⁤ Rosenthal was ‍ultimately taken into custody‍ without further incident.
