Cairo, Egypt – october 26, 2025 – Egypt’s Meteorological Authority has issued warnings of disruptive weather conditions expected today across several governorates, impacting maritime navigation and road travel.The warnings specifically highlight potential hazards along the Mediterranean and Red Sea coasts.
Mediterranean Coast Disruption
Meteorological maps indicate a significant disruption to maritime traffic along portions of the Mediterranean coast, particularly in the areas of Matrouh, el Alamein, Alexandria, and Baltim. Authorities are advising caution and potential closures of beaches due to elevated wave heights, prioritizing public safety.
Regional Weather Forecasts
Greater Cairo and areas north of Upper Egypt are forecast to experience hot and humid conditions. Southern regions of the country, including southern Sinai, will be very hot. Humidity is expected to increase during nighttime and early morning hours across these areas.
Dense Fog Advisory
Drivers are warned of the potential for dense fog formation between 4:00 AM and 8:00 AM on roadways leading to the northern coasts, along marine routes, and in the Greater Cairo area.The Meteorology Authority recommends drivers partially open car windows to minimize internal condensation, utilize fog lights for improved visibility, continuously use windshield wipers, employ low-beam headlights, and maintain increased following distances to ensure the safety of all road users.

Strong winds are anticipated along the beaches of Matrouh, El Alamein, and Alexandria, with wave heights expected to reach 2.25 meters above sea level. Furthermore, the Meteorology Authority has cautioned about disruptions to maritime navigation on the Red Sea coast and the Gulf of Suez, where wave heights are projected to reach 3 meters.
These conditions are occurring as seasonal shifts begin, with some observers noting the early arrival of autumnal weather patterns.
