HOUSTON, TX – Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital,‌ in close partnership with ⁢McGovern ‌Medical School at UTHealth Houston, has been recognized as one of the ​leading children’s​ hospitals in Texas, securing a spot among the top five in the state according to the​ latest U.S. News & World Report Best Children’s Hospitals rankings.

The hospital‌ also ranked sixth in the Southwest ‍region. This achievement underscores ​the strength of the academic affiliation between the hospital and ⁢McGovern medical School, ​which serves as Children’s Memorial Hermann’s primary teaching hospital for both the department of pediatrics ‌and the⁣ Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive ⁣Sciences.

“We are incredibly proud that Children’s Memorial Hermann has been recognized in the 2025-2026 U.S. News‍ & World report’s‍ Best Children’s Hospitals rankings,” stated Dr. LaTanya Love, dean of McGovern Medical School, ‍H. Wayne Hightower Distinguished Professor in Medical Sciences,‍ and executive vice president of Student and University Affairs at ⁤UTHealth ‌Houston. “This achievement reflects the dedication and clinical excellence of our faculty ⁢physicians, as well as the strength of⁢ our academic partnership with our teaching hospital.Together, we are training the ‌next generation of pediatric leaders while delivering world-class care to the children⁢ and families in our community.”

Beyond the​ overall ranking, five specialties at Children’s memorial ⁤Hermann Hospital earned national recognition. Pediatric cardiology ⁤and heart‌ surgery achieved a ranking of 19th nationally, while pediatric gastroenterology ⁢and GI surgery (29th), pediatric neurology and neurosurgery (30th), neonatology (32nd), and pediatric orthopedics (39th) all placed ​within the top⁤ 40 programs ‍in⁢ the ⁤United​ States.

Dr.‌ Bela Patel, ⁤Graham Distinguished University Chair in the ⁤Department of Internal Medicine, and vice dean​ for Healthcare Quality at UTHealth Houston, emphasized the⁤ collaborative nature of this success. “These rankings reflect the strong partnership between Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital and McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston,” he saeid.⁣ “The recognition⁤ highlights the world-renowned expertise of our ⁣physicians and their unwavering commitment to ​providing ​exceptional, compassionate care to children and ⁢families across our community.”

Founded in ⁢1986, Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital‌ offers ‍comprehensive care across over 40 pediatric and women’s health specialties, including advanced services in maternal-fetal ​medicine and ‌neonatal critical care,⁢ as well as ⁣nationally recognized programs‍ in pediatric trauma, neurosciences, pulmonology, and cardiac care.

The‍ U.S. News ​& World Report ⁣rankings are based on a rigorous evaluation of hospitals nationwide, utilizing objective data including patient outcomes, survival rates, quality of ⁤care, and‌ patient experience, with measurable results ‍carrying the most weight.
