Body of Missing Teen Found in Vehicle registered to Musician d4vd
LOS ANGELES – The body of Celeste Rivas, a 15-year-old girl who had been missing since April 2024, was discovered severely decomposed inside an impounded Tesla registered to singer David Anthony Burke, known professionally as d4vd. The discovery was made September 8th at a Hollywood tow lot after reports of a foul odor emanating from the vehicle, according to local news reports.
Authorities have not implicated d4vd in Rivas’ death, and the cause of death remains undetermined, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed. The vehicle’s impoundment status and the circumstances surrounding Rivas’ presence inside are currently under investigation. Representatives for d4vd have stated he is cooperating with law enforcement.
Rivas was last seen in Lake Elsinore, approximately 95 kilometers southeast of Los Angeles, when she was 13 years old.The Medical Examiner’s Office stated she “appears to have been deceased inside the vehicle for an extended period of time” before being found.
d4vd, a 20-year-old singer-songwriter, rose to prominence in 2022 with his viral hit “Romantic Homicide,” which reached No. 4 on Billboard’s Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart.He is known for blending indie rock, R&B, and lo-fi pop, and is signed to Darkroom and Interscope Records, the same label as Billie Eilish. He has released an EP and a full-length album, withered, released in April 2024.
Neither d4vd’s representatives nor police have responded to further requests for comment regarding the case. The investigation is ongoing.
