MANDEVILLE, Jamaica – A 14-year-old mother and her 10-month-old daughter, who were reported missing earlier this week, have been located safe in Mandeville, along with two other teenage boys also previously reported missing from Manchester.The discovery brings relief to families and authorities involved in the search.
Kenalya Burton, known as “Kay Kay,” and her daughter, Keira Burton, were found in the company of the two 14-year-old male students. Superintendent Coleridge Minto, head of the St Elizabeth Police Division, confirmed the group’s location on Monday, October 14, 2025.This incident underscores the vulnerabilities faced by young people and the importance of swift action when individuals, particularly children, go missing.
The St Elizabeth police handed Burton and her daughter over to the Santa Cruz police station, later releasing them into the care of their guardians. Burton is scheduled to appear in court in St Elizabeth on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
Authorities have notified the Child Protection & Family Services Agency (CPFSA) regarding the circumstances surrounding the disappearance and subsequent recovery of the four teenagers. The investigation remains ongoing to determine the reasons for their absence.
