LAKELAND, Fla. – florida‌ Southern College senior​ guard Sydney Gomes has been nationally ​recognized by NCAA Division II analyst Wayne Cavadi as one of the “7 returning​ DII Women’s basketball Guards to ⁤watch for the 2025-26” season,as featured on the official NCAA website. Gomes is the sole representative ​from ⁤the sunshine State conference (SSC) to appear on the list, which highlights elite Division II players known for​ their‌ scoring, ⁣leadership, and overall impact.

cavadi’s feature on the NCAA website spotlights seven​ returning guards⁣ whose experience and production‌ position them as standouts entering the ⁤upcoming season. Gomes joins Minnesota Crookston’s Emma Miller, Grand Valley State’s Nicole Kamin, Ashland’s Lexi Howe, UC Colorado Springs’ Amyah Moore Allen, Minnesota State’s Natalie Bremer, and Central Missouri’s Reese Schaaf on the watch list.
