Steelers Add Depth at Receiver, Sign Isaiah Hodgins
Pittsburgh, PA – September 16, 2025 – The Pittsburgh Steelers are bolstering their wide receiver room, reportedly signing former New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins, as first reported by Jordan Schultz of The Schultz Report.
Hodgins, 26, joins the Steelers after a somewhat nomadic start to his NFL career. Originally a sixth-round pick by the Buffalo Bills in 2020, he spent two seasons bouncing between the Bills’ practice squad and active roster. He was claimed off waivers by the Giants in November of 2022 and re-signed as an exclusive rights free agent the following offseason.
While with the Giants, Hodgins showed flashes of potential, though his 2024 season saw limited action. He appeared in three games, recording two receptions for 12 yards. He spent the most recent offseason with the 49ers, but was a final roster cut following training camp.
The Steelers are likely adding Hodgins to provide depth and competition at the wide receiver position.This move comes as the team continues to evaluate its options behind its established starters.
