Sportradar finalizes ‍Acquisition of IMG ⁣Arena, Expanding ⁤Sports Betting ‌Data Portfolio

London, UK – December 18, ⁤2023 – Sportradar has officially‍ completed its acquisition⁣ of IMG Arena, a move that considerably expands teh company’s reach within the global sports betting and data intelligence market. The deal, initially announced in March, grants Sportradar full ‍control of IMG Arena’s‍ extensive client portfolio, which includes partnerships with major sporting organizations such as the NFL, NBA, MLB,⁢ NASCAR, PGA Tour, National ⁣Women’s Soccer League, Wimbledon, Roland Garros ⁣(French Open), and the US Open.

This acquisition ⁢positions sportradar as a dominant force in ⁣providing official sports data and related services to the rapidly growing sports betting industry. While Sportradar assumes ⁢IMG‌ Arena’s client⁣ base without a cash outlay, Endeavor, the former owner of IMG Arena, received approximately $103⁣ million from Sportradar and‍ disbursed an additional ‌$122 million‌ to various sports rightsholders as part of the transaction. In total, Endeavor offloaded the business for⁤ close to $225 million ahead of its privatization by ⁣Silver‍ Lake.

The deal underwent scrutiny from ⁢the UK’s Competition and markets Authority (CMA),‍ which launched a ‍review in july and⁢ August before granting approval ⁢in ‌october. The CMA’s clearance ⁣was a crucial ‍step in finalizing the agreement.

IMG Arena’s portfolio encompasses a wide range of betting rights and data solutions, complementing Sportradar’s existing offerings. This integration is expected to enhance Sportradar’s ability to⁢ deliver thorough and reliable data feeds, ⁤live ⁤streaming services, and ⁢other innovative ‍products to its customers worldwide.
