Shanghai Electric and Siemens Forge Partnership too Advance Sustainable Power Grid Technology
SHANGHAI,CHINA - Shanghai Electric Group and Siemens Energy have signed a framework agreement to accelerate the advancement and deployment of green and digital technologies for power grids. the collaboration aims to leverage the strengths of both companies to expand market reach, promote sustainable practices, and deliver innovative solutions for a low-carbon energy future.
Under the agreement, Shanghai Electric and Siemens will focus on integrated solutions and high-end equipment, building upon a three-decade history of technological collaboration and market cooperation in China’s power transmission and distribution sector. The partnership intends to create “lighthouse projects” demonstrating Chinese innovation in sustainable energy.

Recent milestones in the Shanghai Electric-Siemens relationship include a strategic cooperation agreement signed in April 2024 to advance power transmission and distribution, digitalization, and low-carbon initiatives, and a July 2024 visit by siemens Energy Executive board member Karim Amin to discuss energy technology synergy and global market development.
The companies will prioritize deepening strategic collaboration, exploring applications across various industrial scenarios, and leveraging equipment partnerships to build sustainable, low-carbon projects. The goal is to deliver “Shanghai Electric Solutions” supporting china’s and the world’s energy transition.
