Selangor Goalkeeper Erases Instagram Following Costly Error in Loss to Persib
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – Sikh Izhan, goalkeeper for Selangor FC adn the Malaysia U-23 national team, deleted all photos from his Instagram account following a critical error that contributed to a 2-1 defeat against persib Bandung in a recent match. The blunder occurred when a clearance attempt deflected off Persib’s Adam Alis,resulting in a goal for the opposing team.
The incident has deeply affected the 23-year-old Izhan, who was visibly distraught after the final whistle, declining post-match interviews and interactions with fans.The loss is a setback for Selangor FC, while Izhan now faces an upcoming call-up to the Malaysian national team for the 2027 Asian Cup Qualifiers, where they will play Nepal on November 18. This situation highlights the intense pressure faced by professional athletes and the emotional toll of high-stakes competition.
