Samsung Tri-Fold phone Launch Imminent,Possibly Starting in Asia This September
Seoul,South Korea – Samsung is poised to unveil its highly anticipated tri-fold smartphone this year, with reports indicating a launch event planned in South Korea at the end of September. The device, featuring two folds instead of the single fold found in current models like the Galaxy Z Fold 5, represents a notable leap in foldable phone technology and could redefine the premium smartphone market.
The launch event, first reported by Korean tech news outlet Newspim, is also expected to showcase Samsung’s Moohan XR headset and updated smart glasses. While Samsung held an Unpacked event in July, details regarding both the Moohan and the tri-fold phone were notably absent, fueling speculation about a dedicated reveal later this year.
This new form factor aims to deliver an even larger screen real estate than existing foldable phones, potentially bridging the gap between smartphones and small tablets. However, initial availability may be limited. According to a CNN report, Samsung is currently determining which markets will receive the Tri-Fold at launch, though a global rollout remains “part of those conversations.” A simultaneous launch in Asia and Western markets would represent a shift from Samsung’s previous strategy of initially releasing products in Asia before expanding westward.
The potential arrival of the Tri-Fold comes as Samsung continues to innovate in the foldable space, having recently released the Galaxy Z Fold 5 earlier this year. Despite the premium price point associated with such cutting-edge technology, the company appears confident in the demand for increasingly versatile mobile devices.
