Samsung Teams with Warby Parker & Gentle Monster too launch AI-powered Smart Glasses
Samsung is entering the smart glasses market with plans to release new AI-powered eyewear in 2025, developed in collaboration with leading fashion and optical brands Warby Parker and Gentle Monster. The proclamation, made during a recent presentation, signals samsung’s commitment to expanding it’s Android XR ecosystem and competing in a rapidly evolving landscape of wearable technology.
These forthcoming smart glasses represent a meaningful step beyond Samsung’s recently released Galaxy XR headset, priced at $1,799. while the galaxy XR focuses on immersive extended reality experiences, the new glasses aim to seamlessly integrate technology into everyday life with a focus on style and accessibility. The project leverages Google’s Gemini AI to deliver features like discreet notifications, navigation, contextual facts, and music control, all displayed on an integrated screen and accessible through a built-in camera, microphone, and speakers.
According to Jay kim, Samsung’s head of customer experience, the glasses are designed to combine “advanced technology and modern design,” offering both comfort and smart functionality. Samsung intends to offer two distinct lines to cater to diffrent consumer preferences: Gentle Monster versions will emphasize luxury and exclusivity, while Warby Parker models will prioritize affordability.
The move positions Samsung to capitalize on growing consumer interest in wearable AI, and directly challenges competitors like Meta and Apple, who are also heavily invested in augmented reality and smart glasses technology. The launch is expected to further accelerate the growth and adoption of AI-driven wearable devices, potentially reshaping how people interact with information and their surroundings.
